2026 NYC Clerk Holiday Closures

Calendar showing 2026 NYC City Clerk holiday closing dates for marriage licenses and City Hall weddings
"While the City Clerk sleeps, the magic doesn't! I perform ceremonies on all holidays and weekends when the Marriage Bureau is closed."

Getting married in the Big Apple is an iconic experience, but it requires a little bit of "NYC hustle" to get your paperwork in order. To make sure your path to the altar is as smooth as a walk through Central Park, we’ve put together a quick guide on where to go and when to avoid the crowds.

Here is everything you need to know about visiting the NYC Marriage Bureaus in 2026.

🏛️ Find Your Borough Office

New York City offers five distinct Marriage Bureau locations. While the Manhattan office at Worth Street is the most famous (and often the busiest), you can obtain your license or have your ceremony at any of the five locations, regardless of which borough you live in.
  • Manhattan: 141 Worth Street, New York, NY 10013

  • Brooklyn: 210 Joralemon Street, Brooklyn, NY 11201

  • The Bronx: 851 Grand Concourse, Room 123, Bronx, NY 10451

  • Queens: 120-55 Queens Boulevard, Room G-100, Kew Gardens, NY 11424

  • Staten Island: 10 Richmond Terrace, Staten Island, NY 10301

Standard Operating Hours:

All offices are open Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM. > Pro-Tip: Remember APPOINTMENTS ONLY & that you must wait at least 24 hours after obtaining your marriage license before you can have your wedding ceremony, so plan your visit accordingly!
